Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Trawling the nets off the harbour mouth by George Callow was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2003. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 211.50 (€ 308.91). Admittedly, works by George Callow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fisherfolk conversing at the end of the day in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,954.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Trawling the nets off the harbour mouth von George Callow kam im Oktober 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 211,50 (€ 308,91) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Callow auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fisherfolk conversing at the end of the day im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.954,87).
