In December this year Bonhams in Paris held the auction Post War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Space Odyssey Continuance by Futura 2000. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 89,300.00 28% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Futura 2000 - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 302,400.00 (€ 292,938.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Space Odyssey Continuance von Futura 2000 zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 89.300,00 und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Futura 2000 mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 302.400,00 (€ 292.938,10) versteigert wurde.
