Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which included the work Hotei by Fūgai Ekun. The price achieved of USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,862.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fūgai Ekun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Daruma, which sold at auction in March 2006 for USD 31,200.00 (€ 25,702.28).
