Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Topographical Pictures, which included the work Sunset On The Venezuelan Coast With A Hunting Party Around A Fire by Fritz Melbye. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,938.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fritz Melbye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cruz Bay; Cinnamon Bay, Danish West Indies (U.S. Virgin Islands) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 48,527.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Topographical Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunset On The Venezuelan Coast With A Hunting Party Around A Fire von Fritz Melbye zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.938,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fritz Melbye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cruz Bay; Cinnamon Bay, Danish West Indies (U.S. Virgin Islands) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 48.527,98).
