Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2004 Christies in New York held the auction THE HOUSE SALE, which included the work Bilderbuch: Eight Plates by Friedrich Justin Bertuch. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,377.50 (€ 4,374.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Friedrich Justin Bertuch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Die Rosen-arten nach Natur, 1804, contemporary morocco portfolio in May last year with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 59,290.80).
