Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bilderbuch Fur Kinder Butterfly Studies: Six Plates by Friedrich Justin Bertuch was sold in the The House Sale auction at Christies in New York in June 2007. The price achieved of USD 2,280.00 (€ 1,686.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Friedrich Justin Bertuch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Die Rosen-arten nach Natur, 1804, contemporary morocco portfolio in May last year with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 59,290.80).
