This artwork by Friedrich Brentel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2009. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Twelve Scenes From The Passion sold for USD 36,875.00 (€ 28,799.59) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Friedrich Brentel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ladies and cavaliers in a ballroom, after Abraham Bosse (Leblanc 771), which sold at auction in January 2000 for USD 101,500.00 (€ 104,027.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 84 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Friedrich Brentel erzielte im Januar 2009 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit Twelve Scenes From The Passion für USD 36.875,00 (€ 28.799,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Friedrich Brentel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ladies and cavaliers in a ballroom, after Abraham Bosse (Leblanc 771) beobachtet, die im Januar 2000 für USD 101.500,00 (€ 104.027,88) versteigert wurde.
