In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Cattle and sheep at pasture; and Sheep resting in a meadow by Frederick Williamson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,721.72), 37% above the upper estimate. With this result, Cattle and sheep at pasture; and Sheep resting in a meadow is even the most expensive work of art by Frederick Williamson that we have observed at auctions so far.
