Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection, which included the work Circumnavigation of the Blood, 1950 by Frederick Sommer. The price achieved of USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,772.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Sommer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Livia' in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 69,300.00 (€ 59,500.30).
