Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Pont du Gard by Frederick Richard Lee was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,100.00 (€ 22,544.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Richard Lee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Rock Of Gibraltar, which sold at auction in December 2009 for GBP 44,450.00 (€ 50,141.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Le Pont du Gard von Frederick Richard Lee kam im November 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.100,00 (€ 22.544,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick Richard Lee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Rock Of Gibraltar beobachtet, die im Dezember 2009 für GBP 44.450,00 (€ 50.141,16) versteigert wurde.
