The work A Woody River Scene by Frederick Richard Lee was sold in the Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures including Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in November 2009. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,830.30), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Richard Lee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Rock Of Gibraltar in December 2009 with an auction result of GBP 44,450.00 (€ 50,141.16).
