The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,830.30), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Richard Lee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Rock Of Gibraltar in December 2009 with an auction result of GBP 44,450.00 (€ 50,141.16).

Die Arbeit A Woody River Scene von Frederick Richard Lee wurde im November 2009 in der Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures including Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.830,30) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Richard Lee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Rock Of Gibraltar im Dezember 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 44.450,00 (€ 50.141,16).
