Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction British Pictures (1500-1850), which included the work An estuary scene with figures unloading a ferry by Frederick Richard Lee. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 13,145.00 (€ 19,563.70). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Richard Lee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Rock Of Gibraltar, which sold at auction in December 2009 for GBP 44,450.00 (€ 50,141.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Pictures (1500-1850) durch, in der auch die Arbeit An estuary scene with figures unloading a ferry von Frederick Richard Lee zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 13.145,00 (€ 19.563,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick Richard Lee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Rock Of Gibraltar beobachtet, die im Dezember 2009 für GBP 44.450,00 (€ 50.141,16) versteigert wurde.
