In June 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction European Art: Paintings & Sculpture, which included the work Playmates by Frederick Morgan. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,286.48), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Morgan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work May I ? in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 974,000.00 (€ 1,044,168.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European Art: Paintings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Playmates von Frederick Morgan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.286,48) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Morgan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit May I ? im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 974.000,00 (€ 1.044.168,10).
