This artwork by Frederick Judd Waugh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Rum Row sold for USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,459.75) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frederick Judd Waugh; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Surf And Fog; Monhegan Maine sold at auction in October 2016 with the realized price of USD 50,000.00 (€ 45,612.11).
