Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frederick Judd Waugh could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Bright Foam changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,604.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Judd Waugh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Surf And Fog; Monhegan Maine in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 45,612.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frederick Judd Waugh konnte im April 2017 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Bright Foam für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.604,86) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Judd Waugh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Surf And Fog; Monhegan Maine im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 45.612,11).
