Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2015 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Gloucester Fishermen by Frederick Judd Waugh. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 18,750.00 (€ 17,456.48). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Judd Waugh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Surf And Fog; Monhegan Maine, which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 45,612.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gloucester Fishermen von Frederick Judd Waugh zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 18.750,00 (€ 17.456,48) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick Judd Waugh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Surf And Fog; Monhegan Maine beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 45.612,11) versteigert wurde.
