Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Breaking Surf by Frederick Judd Waugh for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,792.25). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Frederick Judd Waugh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Surf And Fog; Monhegan Maine in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 45,612.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Breaking Surf von Frederick Judd Waugh für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.792,25) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Judd Waugh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Surf And Fog; Monhegan Maine im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 45.612,11).
