Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Ruins On The Devonshire Coast by Frederick John Widgery. The price achieved of GBP 540.00 (€ 790.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick John Widgery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,692.13).

Im Juli 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ruins On The Devonshire Coast von Frederick John Widgery zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 540,00 (€ 790,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick John Widgery auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.692,13).
