This artwork by Frederick John Widgery achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2006. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work A Devonshire Cove sold for GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,459.32) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick John Widgery - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated), which sold at auction in September 2005 for GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,692.13).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Frederick John Widgery erzielte im Juli 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours wurde die Arbeit A Devonshire Cove für GBP 1.680,00 (€ 2.459,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick John Widgery mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) beobachtet, die im September 2005 für GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.692,13) versteigert wurde.
