In the Lehman Brothers: Artwork and Ephemera auction, the work Fishing barges drying their sails in the harbour at Dordrecht sold for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,445.76) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick James Aldridge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishing vessels in calm seas, which sold at auction in March 2001 for GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,223.17).
