Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work Rome from the campagna by Frederick Henry Henshaw. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,649.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Henry Henshaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kenilworth Castle from Woodhall Road, Warwickshire, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 6,931.00 (€ 10,399.05).
