In September 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Icon by Frederick Edward McWilliam. The result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,035.38) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Edward McWilliam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Woodhenge in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 224,750.00 (€ 254,005.80).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Icon von Frederick Edward McWilliam zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 34.035,38) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Edward McWilliam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Woodhenge im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 224.750,00 (€ 254.005,80).
