Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Egg Head by Frederick Edward McWilliam was sold in the Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in September 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,526.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick Edward McWilliam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Woodhenge in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 224,750.00 (€ 254,005.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Egg Head von Frederick Edward McWilliam wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.526,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Edward McWilliam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Woodhenge im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 224.750,00 (€ 254.005,80).
