This artwork by Frederick Daniel Hardy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2007. In the British & Continental Paintings auction, the work The Little Chimney Sweep sold for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 17,950.82) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Daniel Hardy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Festive Treat, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 37,600.00 (€ 61,455.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frederick Daniel Hardy erzielte im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British & Continental Paintings wurde die Arbeit The Little Chimney Sweep für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 17.950,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick Daniel Hardy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Festive Treat beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 37.600,00 (€ 61.455,72) versteigert wurde.
