The work Reading by the fire by Frederick Daniel Hardy was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Art auction at Christies in London in February 2009. The auction ended at the price of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,764.81), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Daniel Hardy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Festive Treat in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 37,600.00 (€ 61,455.72).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Reading by the fire von Frederick Daniel Hardy wurde im Februar 2009 in der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.764,81) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Daniel Hardy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Festive Treat im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.600,00 (€ 61.455,72).
