Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The First Born by Frederick Daniel Hardy was sold in the Victorian Pictures auction at Christies in London in November 2004. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,736.00 (€ 8,251.21) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Daniel Hardy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Festive Treat in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 37,600.00 (€ 61,455.72).
