Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2006 Christies in Melbourne held the auction Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II, which included the work Fragment by Frederick Cress. The price achieved of AUD 3,346.00 (€ 2,012.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Cress have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Strangers Before in August 2004 with an auction result of AUD 23,900.00 (€ 13,871.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fragment von Frederick Cress zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.346,00 (€ 2.012,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Cress auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Strangers Before im August 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 23.900,00 (€ 13.871,53).
