Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Femmes arabes devant une porte by Frederick Arthur Bridgman was auctioned at Christies in Paris in October last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 12,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at EUR 56,700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Arthur Bridgman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Cérémonie Des Aïssaoui À Blida En Algérie in June 2013 with an auction result of EUR 901,500.00.
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Femmes arabes devant une porte von Frederick Arthur Bridgman im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 12.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 56.700,00 mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Arthur Bridgman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Cérémonie Des Aïssaoui À Blida En Algérie im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 901.500,00.
