Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frederick Schiller Cozzens could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime including Scientific & Medical Instruments auction, the work A day of sailing changed hands for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,446.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Schiller Cozzens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American yachts, their clubs and races in February 2006 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 60,377.36).
