Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A young lady, in light blue coat, with white lace collar and pink ribbon bow, wearing a portrait miniature of a gentleman, blue hoop earrings, upswept brown hair; sky and landscape background by Frédéric Millet was sold in the Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes auction at Christies in London in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,181.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frédéric Millet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Unknown in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,296.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A young lady, in light blue coat, with white lace collar and pink ribbon bow, wearing a portrait miniature of a gentleman, blue hoop earrings, upswept brown hair; sky and landscape background von Frédéric Millet wurde im Dezember 2008 in der Auktion Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.181,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frédéric Millet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Unknown im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 7.296,56).
