Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (designs associated with the site of Kurrinya), 1989 by Fred Ward Tjungurrayi was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne in April 2021. The price achieved of AUD 6,150.00 (€ 5,112.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fred Ward Tjungurrayi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Patjanja, which sold at auction in December 2019 for USD 13,125.00 (€ 11,690.57).
