Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works, which included the work Austrian Blumenstillleben Mit Tulpen, Rosen Und Taglilien (Still Life With Tulips, Roses And Day-Lilies) by Franz Xaver Wolf. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,787.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Xaver Wolf - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roses, poppies, sweet peas and other summer flowers in a vase on a marble ledge, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 9,987.50 (€ 15,831.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Austrian Blumenstillleben Mit Tulpen, Rosen Und Taglilien (Still Life With Tulips, Roses And Day-Lilies) von Franz Xaver Wolf zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.787,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Franz Xaver Wolf mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Roses, poppies, sweet peas and other summer flowers in a vase on a marble ledge beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für GBP 9.987,50 (€ 15.831,42) versteigert wurde.
