This artwork by Franz Knebel II achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2007. In the 19th Century European Art, including Spanish and Orientalist Art auction, the work Cascades at Tivoli sold for GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,368.88) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Knebel II - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'acquedotto Claudio, which sold at auction in May 2008 for EUR 43,040.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Franz Knebel II erzielte im Juni 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art, including Spanish and Orientalist Art wurde die Arbeit Cascades at Tivoli für GBP 14.400,00 (€ 21.368,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Franz Knebel II mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit L'acquedotto Claudio beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für EUR 43.040,00 versteigert wurde.
