Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Four Square by Franz Kline was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2003. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,911,500.00 (€ 1,593,580.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Kline achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 40,402,500.00 (€ 31,054,957.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Four Square von Franz Kline kam im November 2003 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.911.500,00 (€ 1.593.580,66) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Franz Kline erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.402.500,00 (€ 31.054.957,72).
