This artwork by Franz Kaisermann achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2020. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work View of the Arch of Titus, Rome sold for GBP 16,380.00 (€ 18,297.92) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Franz Kaisermann; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Arch Of Constantine And Part Of The Colosseum sold at auction in July 2012 with the realized price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 35,027.61).
