In September 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Mathstein, First Frame House in Milwaukee; Buildings at Water's Edge, and Pioneer's Sod Houses: (A Double-Sided Work); Ranzer's Farmyard in Illinois; Teepee Frames Under a Tree: Four Works by Franz Holzlhuber for USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,485.62). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auc Admittedly, works by Franz Holzlhuber have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Indians at a Listening Post by a Shore; Chippewa Indians on Mackinac Island; Fort Snelling, Minnesota; and Ball Game of Menominee Indians: Four Works in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 23,750.00 (€ 16,866.70).
