Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Boathouse on the Mississippi; Union Hotel by Hardley by Franz Holzlhuber was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,509.13). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Holzlhuber achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Indians at a Listening Post by a Shore; Chippewa Indians on Mackinac Island; Fort Snelling, Minnesota; and Ball Game of Menominee Indians: Four Works in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 23,750.00 (€ 16,866.70).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two Indians at a Listening Post by a Shore; Chippewa Indians on Mackinac Island; Fort Snelling, Minnesota; and Ball Game of Menominee Indians: Four Works im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 16.866,70).
