Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection, which included the work Untitled (Nude), 1929 by František Drtikol. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,783.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by František Drtikol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Temná vlna (The Dark Wave), 1926 in April last year with an auction result of USD 352,800.00 (€ 334,820.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Nude), 1929 von František Drtikol zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.783,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von František Drtikol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Temná vlna (The Dark Wave), 1926 im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 352.800,00 (€ 334.820,16).
