This artwork by František Drtikol achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November this year. In the Dance of Death auction, the work Untitled (Nude with Skull) sold for USD 2,816.00 (€ 2,581.59) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by František Drtikol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Temná vlna (The Dark Wave), 1926 in April last year with an auction result of USD 352,800.00 (€ 334,820.16).

Dieses Kunstwerk von František Drtikol erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dance of Death wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Nude with Skull) für USD 2.816,00 (€ 2.581,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von František Drtikol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Temná vlna (The Dark Wave), 1926 im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 352.800,00 (€ 334.820,16).
