Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mountainous Landscape With A Village by Frans Swagers was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2013. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,212.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frans Swagers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Barges On The River, Holland, which sold at auction in December 2006 for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,357.13).

Die Arbeit Mountainous Landscape With A Village von Frans Swagers wurde im Februar 2013 in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.212,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Frans Swagers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Barges On The River, Holland beobachtet, die im Dezember 2006 für GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.357,13) versteigert wurde.
