Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Gamedealer by Frans Snyders was sold in the Lord St. Helens and Sir William FitzHerbert The Collections of a Diplomat and a Courtier auction at Christies in London in January 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 68,946.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frans Snyders achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A larder with a draped table laden with game, a lobster, vegetables and fruit in a basket, and kraak porcelain, with a parrot and two hounds in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,112,750.00 (€ 1,239,702.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Gamedealer von Frans Snyders wurde im Januar 2009 in der Auktion Lord St. Helens and Sir William FitzHerbert The Collections of a Diplomat and a Courtier bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 61.250,00 (€ 68.946,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frans Snyders erzielen.
