In April 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Cats fighting in a larder, with loaves of bread, a dressed lamb, artichokes and grapes by Frans Snyders. The »bidding war« ended at USD 427,500.00 (€ 392,381.83), 71% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frans Snyders - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A larder with a draped table laden with game, a lobster, vegetables and fruit in a basket, and kraak porcelain, with a parrot and two hounds, which sold at auction in December 2018 for GBP 1,112,750.00 (€ 1,239,702.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 71 % übertroffen
Im April 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cats fighting in a larder, with loaves of bread, a dressed lamb, artichokes and grapes von Frans Snyders zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 427.500,00 (€ 392.381,83) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Frans Snyders mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A larder with a draped table laden with game, a lobster, vegetables and fruit in a basket, and kraak porcelain, with a parrot and two hounds beobachtet, die im Dezember 2018 für GBP 1.112.750,00 (€ 1.239.702,19) versteigert wurde.
