Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Lamentation by Frans Francken II was sold in the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in June 2020. It changed hands for a price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,694.86) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frans Francken II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diana and her nymphs in a wooded landscape in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 395,250.00 (€ 467,139.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Lamentation von Frans Francken II wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.694,86) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frans Francken II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diana and her nymphs in a wooded landscape im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 395.250,00 (€ 467.139,24).
