Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 15,120.00 (€ 14,442.64). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frans Francken II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diana and her nymphs in a wooded landscape in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 395,250.00 (€ 467,139.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Feast Of Midas von Frans Francken II kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 15.120,00 (€ 14.442,64) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frans Francken II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diana and her nymphs in a wooded landscape im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 395.250,00 (€ 467.139,24).
