Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2020 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, which included the work THE EMPEROR CHARLES V SHOWN THE VIRGIN'S ROBES by Frans Francken II. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 75,600.00. Admittedly, works by Frans Francken II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diana and her nymphs in a wooded landscape in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 395,250.00 (€ 467,139.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900 durch, in der auch die Arbeit THE EMPEROR CHARLES V SHOWN THE VIRGIN'S ROBES von Frans Francken II zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 75.600,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frans Francken II auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Diana and her nymphs in a wooded landscape im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 395.250,00 (€ 467.139,24).
