This artwork by Frans Floris the Elder achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2008. In the Old Master and Early British Paintings auction, the work Portrait Of A Bearded Man, Head And Shoulders; Portrait Of A Roman Emperor, Head And Shoulders sold for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 19,119.62) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frans Floris the Elder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Holy Family With Saint John The Baptist in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 69,750.00 (€ 113,582.84).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Frans Floris the Elder erzielte im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and Early British Paintings wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of A Bearded Man, Head And Shoulders; Portrait Of A Roman Emperor, Head And Shoulders für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 19.119,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frans Floris the Elder auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Holy Family With Saint John The Baptist im Juli 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 69.750,00 (€ 113.582,84).
