Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Laocoön and a son attacked by serpents within a cartouche by Frans Floris the Elder for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,679.99). This price was achieved in the auction Italian Drawings From The Robert Landolt Collection at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frans Floris the Elder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Family With Saint John The Baptist in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 69,750.00 (€ 113,582.84).

Im Dezember 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Laocoön and a son attacked by serpents within a cartouche von Frans Floris the Elder für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.679,99) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Italian Drawings From The Robert Landolt Collection bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frans Floris the Elder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Holy Family With Saint John The Baptist im Juli 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 69.750,00 (€ 113.582,84).
