Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Head of a man in a helmet (Mars?) by Frans Floris the Elder. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,376.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frans Floris the Elder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Holy Family With Saint John The Baptist, which sold at auction in July 2001 for GBP 69,750.00 (€ 113,582.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Head of a man in a helmet (Mars?) von Frans Floris the Elder zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.376,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Frans Floris the Elder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Holy Family With Saint John The Baptist beobachtet, die im Juli 2001 für GBP 69.750,00 (€ 113.582,84) versteigert wurde.
