Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings, & Watercolors, which included the work The Four Evangelists by Frans Floris the Elder. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 15,320.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frans Floris the Elder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Holy Family With Saint John The Baptist in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 69,750.00 (€ 113,582.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings, & Watercolors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Four Evangelists von Frans Floris the Elder zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 15.320,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frans Floris the Elder auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Holy Family With Saint John The Baptist im Juli 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 69.750,00 (€ 113.582,84).
