Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hillman Imp (Calendar Illustration) by Frank Wootton was auctioned at Christies in London in August 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 780.00 (€ 1,153.05). Admittedly, works by Frank Wootton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Moving Off in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,753.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hillman Imp (Calendar Illustration) von Frank Wootton im August 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 780,00 (€ 1.153,05) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Wootton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Moving Off im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.753,84).
